What are .OCX files?

(OLE) Control Extension (.OCX) - Application extension required by excutable files (.exe) to perform specific program functions.
For example lets say you have program.exe and it requires test1.ocx. If the test1.ocx file is missing or if it is corrupted, your program.exe will error and may not function properly.


  • Reasons to replace or install .ocx files.
    • Missing .OCX files.
    • Software or windows .OCX errors.
    • Corrupted or damaged .OCX files.
    • Old .OCX versions that may need to be updated.
    • Different developers create identical .ocx names, however each are created for separate software.
